Learn Infant Massage/Nurturing Touch

Touch is Your Baby’s First Language

“Being touched and massaged is food for the infant.  Food as necessary as minerals, vitamins and protein.

—Dr. Frederic Leboyer, Natural Birth Advocat

What is Infant Massage?

Infant massage, or nurturing touch, is an ancient tradition in many cultures that has been rediscovered in the West.  Clinical studies have confirmed that loving, nurturing touch has a positive impact upon baby’s development, both physically and neurologically.

Benefits of Infant Massage

  • Enhances bonding and loving communication between parents and baby
  • Helps to strengthen/regulate baby’s digestive, respiratory and circulatory systems
  • Helps parents to understand and respond appropriately to baby’s non-verbal cues
  • Strengthens baby’s immune system; relieves the symptoms of gas and colic
  • Empowers parents to better care for fussy, ill, or special needs babies
  • Helps parents and baby to release stress hormones.
  • It’s fun, and it feels wonderful!

“Nature needs nurturing to reach its maximum potential.” —Dr. Bruce Lipton, Ph.D
